Jewell Loyd keeps living up to her No. 1 overall pick hype

When you’re the top pick in the WNBA Draft, you’re of course going to have loads of pressure on your shoulders. Such was the case for basketball standout Jewell Loyd, as she was selected No. 1 overall by the Seattle Storm back in 2015 coming out of Notre Dame. Ever since she arrived in Emerald City, the sharpshooter has put on a show.

Now in her seventh season with the Storm, fans across Seattle couldn’t be more thankful that the organization decided to bring her to town. Along with Sue Bird and the other stars on the team, Loyd has helped the Storm win two WNBA titles since she turned pro, with the team lifting the trophy high into the sky in 2018 and 2020.

During that 2018 season, Loyd was fantastic, averaging 15.5 points per game, while also shooting 42.3 percent from the floor. Then in 2020, she also scored 15.5 points per contest, drilling 44.3 percent of her shots. Early on in 2021, Loyd continues to play lights out for Seattle.

Did you know that Loyd has also played in China, South Korea, Turkey and Spain? So, in addition to ballin’ out in the WNBA, she’s also been incredible overseas too? Yup, that’s exactly the case. With Loyd only being 27 years old too, she’s in the prime of her career. We can’t wait to see what else she can accomplish with the Storm!
