Cesar Azpilicueta serving as ideal skipper for Chelsea FC
Ever since Cesar Azpilicueta made his debut for Chelsea back in 2012, he's really turned heads with his outstanding defensive play. Whether it be at centre back or right back, Azpilicueta has been ready to do whatever is needed to help the Blues grab three points.

For us here at Signathon, the thought of hosting a live event and 1-on-1 chat with him was a no-brainer. Why? Because Azpilicueta is not only closing in on 10 years with the club, but he's earned the respect of so many in London.

Azpilicueta has been the club captain since 2019 and it's an honor he doesn't take lightly. Matter of fact, he's always quick to say how much it means to him to be the skipper.
In total, Azpilicueta has made well over 400 appearances for Chelsea since making the more over From Ligue 1 Marseille in France. As things stand, Azpilicueta is eighth for Chelsea on the all-time list of matches.
What's made things even better for the Spaniard is he's now building a close connection with new manager Thomas Tuchel as well. This has been amazing to see, especially after all the outstanding memories the man known as 'Dave' has had with the club.
Thus far, Azpilicueta has won the Champions League (2021), two Europa Leagues, two English Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one UEFA Supercup while donning a Chelsea jersey. That's unreal.
With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, The Guardian is reporting that the Blues front office has been in discussions with the defender about an extension. This comes after reports have suggested Barcelona has shown interest in landing Azpilicueta as well.
Chelsea wants to make sure that doesn't happen, though. The Blues clearly want the club captain to stay in London to try and help the team bring home even more hardware.
